Biography
Dr. G. Paulraj earned his B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and has over 25 years of professional experience, comprising 20 years in academia and 5 years in industry. His areas of specialization include Tool Design, Composite Materials, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Additive Manufacturing, and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. G. Paulraj has been actively involved in teaching, research, academic administration, accreditation activities, and industry collaboration. His research interests focus on design optimization, composite materials, additive manufacturing, smart manufacturing systems, and engineering education. He has published more than 30 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He has also contributed significantly to innovation and intellectual property development with seven patents published and one patent granted.
Dr. G. Paulraj has held several key leadership positions in engineering institutions. He served as Professor and Principal at Shivani College of Engineering and Technology in Tiruchirappalli from July 2015 to July 2018. Subsequently, he worked as Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vel Tech Engineering College, Chennai, from December 2018 to July 2019. From July 2019 to July 2025, he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM TRP Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli. Since July 2025, he has been serving as Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SRM TRP Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli.
In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities, Dr. G. Paulraj has actively guided undergraduate and postgraduate projects, promoted industry–institution interactions, organized faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and accreditation initiatives. His contributions have played a significant role in strengthening engineering education, research culture, outcome-based education practices, and industry-oriented skill development among students and faculty members.
