Dr. N. Senthilkumar

Dr. N. Senthilkumar obtained his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Master of Engineering in Engineering Design, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University. He has more than 19 years of professional experience, including over 15 years in academia and nearly 4 years in industry.

His areas of specialization include Machine Design, Product Development, CAD/CAM/CAE, Finite Element Analysis, Plasma Arc Machining, Structural Design, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Advanced Manufacturing Technologies. Prior to joining academia, he worked in product design and development industries where he was involved in the design and development of motors, alternators, transformer cores, and engineering products.

He completed his Ph.D. in 2025 with the thesis titled 'Investigating the Impact of Cryogenic Treatment and Nickel Coating on Copper Nozzle Wear and Performance During Plasma Arc Machining'. His research interests include Plasma Arc Machining, Surface Engineering, Cryogenic Treatment, Product Design Optimization, Composite Materials, Welding Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence applications in Engineering.

He has published research papers in reputed SCI, SCIE, and Scopus-indexed journals and has contributed to innovation through patent publications. He actively participates in academic administration, alumni engagement, industry interaction, placement activities, and outcome-based education initiatives.
