Biography
Lt. N. Periyasamy earned his B.E., M.E., degrees in Mechanical Engineering and has over 17 years of professional experience, comprising 14 years in academia and 3 years in industry. His areas of specialization include Engineering thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering, Heat and Mass Transfer, Power plant engineering and I.C Engines.
Throughout his academic career, Lt. N. Periyasamy has been actively involved in teaching, research, academic administration, and accreditation activities. His research interests focus on renewable energy sources, fuel cells and I.C engines. He has also contributed significantly to innovation and intellectual property development with one patent published.
Lt. N. Periyasamy has actively guided undergraduate and postgraduate projects, promoted industry–institution interactions, organized faculty development programs, workshops, seminars, and accreditation initiatives. His contributions have played a significant role in strengthening engineering education, outcome-based education practices, and industry-oriented skill development among students and faculty members.
Lt. N. Periyasamy undergone 10 days FDP at PSG Tech, Coimbatore for Entrepreneurship Development. Later he was initiated and co Ordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Cell in SRM TRP Engineering college in 2015.
In the year 2022, 8/1 Coy 2 (TN) Bn National cadet Corps (NCC) unit was established and he was the care taker of this unit. In year 2023 June, he undergone 90 days training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, Maharashtra. After completion of Pre-Commissioned Course (PRCN) he was assumed to the Associate NCC Officer from 09th September 2023 onwards.
In NCC, under his guidance cadets participated:
- All India G. V. Mavlankar shooting championship.
- All India Trekking Camp, Wellington, Ooty
- Army Attachment Camp, Bangalore,
- Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Camps.
Lt. N. Periyasamy has actively guided and given seminar talk to school students in and around Trichy about NCC and opportunities in uniformed services.
