Detailed guidelines for conduct, safety, and facilities within the college hostels.
Each hostel is managed by a Warden/ competent authority who is regular faculty/ staff member of the Institute, Residential tutor and supervisor.
Statutorily, hostel accommodation is available to undergraduate (UG) Students, only during a working semester. No student will have a right to occupy a room during vacation. But he/she may be permitted to stay on request, if he/she is doing any course work / project work / Institute work / Hostel work.
Hostel accommodation is available to postgraduate (PG) students for their study duration. They can retain their room during odd semester vacation. At the end of the year-end they have to vacate the hostel.
Hostel accommodation is available to research scholars throughout the year subject to a maximum of 5 years. Ph.D. scholars shall vacate the hostel even in the middle of a semester once they are relieved from the Institute. However, they have to pay establishment charges for the entire semester.
Hostel accommodation may be provided to staff members who are registered for and working towards a degree at the Institute based on their request for rooms for a limited period, which could be extended, based on the availability of rooms.
The students are entitled for accommodation in the hostel as long as they are full time registered students. Any student who is removed from the Rolls of Institute will automatically cease to be a member of the hostel.
Married students/ Research scholars/ QIP scholars, who are provided quarters in the campus, are fully exempted from hostel stay.
In case of any student being denied a room in hostels by the Hostel Administration Committee due to paucity/ damage/ maintenance, a complete exemption for payment of charges may be granted until accommodation is available.
Admin manager of the institution is responsible for room allotment and hostel head’s decision is final and binding.
At the time of admission and at the beginning of every year, each resident must submit a duly completed Personal Data Form with parent's contact details.
Minimum furniture provided: cot, table, chair, ceiling fan, AC (if applicable), and tube light fitting(s).
Rooms once allotted for an academic year will not be changed except in special situations.
The Hostel administration can allot the bed for its fullest capacity of the room/ hall.
Residents must vacate if they are no longer eligible for hostel accommodation.
Students can approach any of the officers for help, guidance and grievance redressal through proper channels.
Feedback regarding Mess, Housekeeping, and Maintenance should be provided to the Warden.
Students must update contact details promptly and abide by all rules in the hostel handbook.
Breach of rules will invite an enquiry and potential disciplinary action, including fines, suspension, or expulsion.
Submission of a signed Hostel Undertaking form is mandatory.
Unwanted incidents or undesirable activities must be reported to the supervisor/Warden.
Fees shall be paid before the beginning of every year.
College and Hostel ID cards must be carried at all times.
Medical Leave requires a certificate issued by the Medical Officer.
In case of sudden illness, the Hostel Office must be informed immediately for guidance and support.
Maintain standards of behavior expected from students of the Institution; behave courteously and fairly with everyone.
Wholeheartedly adhere to College and Hostel Rules, including amendments implemented from time to time.
Intensify focus on academic development and progress, particularly during study hours.
Observe hostel timings and abide by study hours.
Uphold the dignity and image of the institution and staff.
Go to bed early and get up early to be punctual for breakfast and classes.
Follow the modest and decent dress code; no pirated/unauthorized movies are allowed.
Inmates are responsible for room upkeep; damage to property will result in charges for repair/replacement.
No moving of furniture from allotted places or removing fittings from other rooms.
No Employing unauthorized persons for personal work.
Celebrations like birthday parties are not allowed inside the hostel.
Functions, meetings, or picnics/tours require specific permission from authorities; no last-minute permission is granted.
Prior permission required via "sign out" form or biometric registration before leaving the hostel.
Premises can be left as early as 5:30 am with permission.
Visitors allowed only until 6:00 pm on all days.
Latest return time: 6:00 pm for Girls and 8:00 pm for Boys.
Girls students expected to be in by 6:00 pm (6:30 pm Sat/Sun). Weekend away stays require prior parent/guardian permission.
"Silence Hour" treated from 11:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Movement register at Gate Security must be signed whenever leaving the campus.
Stay in the hostel during class hours is prohibited without specific permission.
Theft cases lead to immediate expulsion and recovery of stolen value.
Smoking, alcohol, drugs, narcotics, and gambling are strictly prohibited inside the hostel/campus.
Surprise checks will be conducted; violation may result in rustication from the Institute.
Mass Action, Agitation, and Strikes are strictly prohibited and may lead to dismissal.
Students are responsible for any loss or damage to hostel property in their rooms/floors.
Misconduct records will be made in the personal file; serious offenses may deny campus interview privileges.
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and is a punishable crime under the Indian Penal Code.
To eliminate incidents, first-year students are not allowed to visit senior's hostels.
Campus is ragging-free with an active anti-ragging squad; incidents must be reported immediately.
Punishments include suspension from classes, withholding results, expulsion from the hostel, and rustication from the institution.
Anti-Ragging Undertaking forms must be signed by all students and parents.
Students should not own or use powered vehicles (two-wheelers/cars) in the campus.
Confiscated vehicles will be released only at the end of course completion.
Cycles must be parked only in provided spaces; no parking at entrances or corridors.
Possession or use of cell phones/Laptops/iPods and electrical appliances like heaters/irons is restricted (refer to hostel handbook for specific device permissions).
Unauthorized devices will be confiscated and fines imposed.
Routine maintenance (Civil, Carpentry, Electrical) should be reported to the Estate Maintenance office.
Cooperate with maintenance work and vacate rooms if required by the HAC.
Switch off all lights and fans before leaving the room.
Lock all belongings even when out for a short period; branded locks are preferred.
Costly jewels and items should not be possessed; authorities are not responsible for losses.
Follow all traffic rules inside and outside the campus.
Hostel terrace access is strictly prohibited.
Record entries in the IN/OUT register at the gate security.
No spitting, pasting, or scribbling on walls; keep the environment neat and clean.
Littering and use of non-biodegradables (carry bags) is prohibited.
Cooking inside the rooms is strictly not allowed.
General cleanliness of bathrooms and verandahs must be followed by all inmates.
Food and utensils must not be taken outside the mess hall or to rooms.
Visitors' timings: Sat (7 PM – 8 PM), Sun (8 AM – 5 PM).
Hostel ID card production is mandatory for dining.
Unlimited food quantity, except for special items; food waste is not entitled.
Courteous interaction with mess staff and self-service system is expected.
Kitchen and store rooms are off-limits for non-committee members.
Day scholar students are not allowed to visit the hostel premises.
Authorized visitors only; entries must be made in the visitor’s book at the security guard station.
No overnight guests permitted without Warden's permission.
Restricted visits for persons of the opposite sex (lounge/common room only).
Eligibility terminated if college attendance falls below 95% in a semester.
Eligibility terminated if standing arrears exceed 3 at any point of time.
